■ BATHALAD-SUGBO OFFERS FELLOWSHIP FOR CREATIVE WRITERS' WORKSHOP
Creative writers may now apply for a slot in the 1st Kagis Creative Writers’ Workshop scheduled on April 8 and 9 at the Cafe Capriccio in Lahug, Cebu City. Bathalan-ong Halad sa Dagang Sugbo (Bathalad-Sugbo), in partnership with YOUTeacH Philippines Central Visayas, is organizing the event. Ten Kagis fellowships are available to emerging Cebuano writers who are living in any town or city in Cebu.
Interested participants will have until this Saturday, March 25, to submit their workshop entries Bathalad-Sugbo will select 10 Kagis fellows from Cebu; those from outside Cebu will have to spend for their fare, lodging
Bathalan-ong Halad sa Dagang Sugbo (Bathalad-Sugbo), in partnership with YOUTeacH Philippines Central Visayas, is now accepting applications for the 1st Kagis Creative Writers’ Workshop set on April 8 and 9 at the Cafe Capriccio, Nivel Hills, Lahug, Cebu City.
This year, 10 Kagis fellows are available to emerging Cebuano writers who are living in any municipality or city in Cebu. Those who are not from Cebu may still submit their application, but they will have to spend for their fare and lodging within the duration of the event.
The workshop will also select 15 Kagis observers from the short listed applicants to witness and engage in the workshop.
Kagis fellows will be provided with food and workshop materials.
Applicants should submit original and unpublished work-either five poems or one short story written in Sugboanong Binisaya or English in Word format entry (font Arial or Times New Roman, size 12 pts., double-spaced, doc or docx, and for short story it must be numbered, by paragraph, on the left margin) and comprehensive curriculum vitae (also include active mobile number, permanent address in Cebu, school(s) attended, and birthdate), with subject: “KAGIS” to be followed by the applicant’s last name, middle initial, first name and genre (example: KAGIS_Dela Cruz_H_Juan_Poetry) to kagisworkshop@gmail.com.
Each manuscript should not be more than 25 pages.
The applicant’s name should not appear on the manuscript. On the email’s body, include a 150-200-word bionote in the third person.
The deadline for submission of workshop entries is on Saturday, March 25.
