Ateam from Kowloon Shangri-La Hongkong came to town to talk about the hotel's latest project which celebrates the Cultural Heritage of Tsim Sha Tsui (TST). A vibrant, modern and busy district in Hongkong's Kowloon peninsula, TST has had an interesting and colorful heritage and this is the focus of Kowloon Shangri-La in its latest promotion which is until the end of the year. Patsy Chan, the hotel's director of communications, gave select lifestyle writers a run-through of the very appealing Cultural Heritage Package during a super yum lunch at Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and Spa prepared by Acqua Italian Chef Andrea Burzio.
The unique package includes a guided walking tour (three to four hours) of TST's heritage from Unesco-nominated buildings, the city's oldest military facility and the Kowloon peninsula's first Catholic church to the primary school attended by Kung Fu master Bruce Lee. And thrown in is a special edition of a booklet featuring selected examples of TST's cultural heritage. These are in addition to the luxurious accommodations and attractive perks offered in the waterfront five-star Kowloon Shangri-La Hong Kong.
○○○ Travel Catalogue International 2017 unfolded one lovely weekend at the Ayala Center Cebu's Activity Center with the Cebu Travel and Tours Association headed by Allan Carvajal of Travelways, in tandem with the Cebu Alliance of Tour Operation Specialists under the leadership of Alice Queblatin of Southwind Travel, and the Department of Tourism Region 7 topbilled by director Catalino Chan III (who sadly passed away last Thursday) joining hands to come up with a very successful travel fair. Of course they had the cooperation of the airlines who offered discounted fares.
○○○ BetterAir, the world's first probotic air and surface purifier, was recently introduced to the Cebu market by Age Well Solutions (exclusive distributor) during a cocktail party at the Grand Convention Center of Cebu. Playing hosts were president/chief executive Harry Obsitos and vice president Shari Obsitos along with international corporate officer and chief marketing officer Casey Neves.
Mr. Obsitos shared that there is a need to improve indoor air quality and environmental hygiene and Better Air is addressing this. Its technology "is designed to repeatedly release Environmental Probiotics—a vapor compound comprised of an organically cultured strain of probiotics called Bacillus ferment." This results in a healthy microbiome and balanced indoor space.
○○○ Elaine Cooper Gallery is the newest interior design gallery in town. Located on the 12th floor of Link Bldg. at the Cebu IT Park (Salinas Drive corner JM del Mar Avenue), the furniture/decor shop was launched on a lovely Saturday afternoon with Elaine Cooper, the owner and principal designer, playing cocktail host. Her company offers design services from concepts to creative solutions, spatial studies and supervision to private individuals, developers and the hospitality industry.

The cultural treat, as envisioned by BC founder and chairman of the board Ambassador Francisco Benedicto, was in line with the school's goal to promote Filipino culture through dances from the different regions. The Sandiego Dance Company under its artistic director/owner Val Sandiego is known for its well-researched folk dances and sterling performances.
