■ STUDENT NABBED INSIDE JAIL FOR DELIVERING 'SHABU'
A high school student posed as a visitor of an inmate of the Lapu-Lapu City Jail last Tuesday. What police learned next came as a surprise. Remerl Pojas, 20, was found to have allegedly stuck a sachet of suspected shabu in his private parts, which he later delivered to an inmate identified as Fernando Pagobo. Pojas told the jail officers that Pagobo is a cousin. But Jail Officer 1 Mark Sato and Senior Jail Officer 3 Edgar Mondido noticed something suspicious when Pojas asked to use the toilet and stayed inside for a long time. Just before leaving the jail, Pojas handed something to Pagobo, prompting jail officers to stop the visitor and search the inmate’s jail cell. Pojas later admitted giving illegal drugs to Pagobo.
A 20-year-old student was arrested after he allegedly hid a sachet of shabu in his private part when he tried to deliver this inside the Lapu-Lapu City Jail.
Remerl Pojas, a resident Barangay Duljo Fatima in Cebu City, was arrested by Jail Officer 1 Mark Sato and Senior Jail Officer 3 Edgar Mondido at 3:30 p.m. last Tuesday.
Pojas was reportedly a Grade 8 student of the Gothong National High School in Cebu City.
Supt. Gil Inopia, jail warden, said Pojas initially introduced himself as a cousin of detainee Fernan- do Pagobo. The jail official, however, later found out that it was just the suspect’s alibi so he could speak with the prisoner.
Jail officers noticed something unusual with Pojas’ behavior after the latter stayed longer inside the comfort room. After that, Pojas allegedly gave something to Pagobo before leaving the facility.
Jail personnel stopped Pojas before he reached the exit area, while a search was conducted in Pagobo’s detention cell.
Pojas allegedly admitted giving drugs to Pagobo. /
