REGISTRATION FOR SK, BARANGAY POLLS CLOSES
Those who weren’t able to register for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections yesterday won’t be able to vote come election time. Yesterday was the last day of registration. According to Atty. Marchel Sarno, election officer of the north district, there will be no extensions, considering registration started early last year yet. A total of 1,295 residents in Cebu City were able to register yesterday. “The registration went well because we made sure that those who registered brought all the needed documents to register like the form we provided and the identification cards,” Sarno said.
More than a thousand Cebu City residents made it to the last day of registration for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections yesterday.
Lawyer Marchel Sarno, election officer of the north district, said that they were able to register 615 individuals while 680 registered in the south district.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) Cebu City held a weeklong off-site registration at the Robinsons Cybergate starting last Monday to accommodate more registrants.
Sarno they set up six computers for the north and south districts to fasttrack the process.
"The registration went well because we made sure that those who registered brought all the needed documents to register like the form we provided and the identification cards," he said.
