Lapu-Lapu’s oldest resident receives gifts from CH
After she turned 60 years old, Faustina Sobiono of Barangay Pangan-an, Lapu-Lapu City decided to stop eating pork and other meat.
It is because of this that Sobiono continues to live with no illnesses, she believes.
Sobiono, who celebrated her 104th birthday last March 14, is the oldest centenarian in LapuLapu.
Sobiono said she only eats vegetables and drinks milk regularly.
Jovita Cabilao, 59, daughter of Sobiono, said her mother is the eldest of nine children. Sobiono is the only one alive.
“Vegetables with grilled fish is her favorite food. She doesn’t really like eating pork,” she said.
Sobiono has nine children and 53 grandchildren.
Yesterday, Mayor Paz Radaza together with Pangan-an Barangay Captain Virgilio Casiao visited Sobiono in her house during the village’s fiesta celebration and gave her gifts.
Sobiono became emotional, saying that she’s glad to have Radaza in her house.
Radaza said that the Department of Social Welfare and Development 7 will also give P100,000 to the centenarian. /
