32 JAIL GUARDS RELIEVED

Thirty-two custodial jail guards in Iloilo District Jail were relieved for failure to submit a written statement that they are not involved in the alleged illegal drugs trade inside the jail. Three drug pushers arrested last month alleged that they get their supply from the jail. Senior Superintendent Rex Delarmente, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Region 6 director, said the guards were transferred to nearby jail facilities pending the results of an ongoing investigation. Delarmente said they have also recommended the relief of jail warden Senior Inspector Abner Zamora and his assistant. /
