Celebs #PrayForMarawi
As the world mourned the death of 22 people, mostly young ones, in Manchester, England, back in the Philippines, Pinoy celebrities have their own worry: Two soldiers and one policeman were reported killed, while 12 others were injured during a firefight in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.
The tweets of netizens who claimed to have seen the atrocities firsthand paint a more sullen picture: inmates being freed, buildings being burned, Christians beheaded.
Celebrities took to their social media accounts to send messages of support to the people in Marawi and the victims of the clash. The hashtag #PrayForMarawi became a trending topic worldwide Tuesday night.
Here are some of the tweets from celebrities.
