■ DOCTOR AMONG THOSE CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF ILLEGAL DRUGS BY THE CEBU CITY PROSECUTOR­S OFFICE

The doctor is one of the 11 drug suspects arrested by the operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency in a buy-bust last May 15.

PDEA 7 Informatio­n Officer Leia Albiar said that Dr. John Paul Camello was caught visiting a drug den in Sta. Cruz last May 15. Camello is a practicing doctor in Bohol. He graduated from a medical school in Cebu City in 2006. He has told reporters that he went to the drug den to visit a patient, whose identity he did not divulge. Camello stepped out of jail after posting P200,000 bail. The den’s alleged operator, Eduardo Hermogino, was arrested along with other suspected junkies Aaron Lao, 39; Freola Eras, 43; Rommel Nabaluna, 46; and Jerome Señoron, 29. →

The Office of the Cebu City Prosecutor has indicted a doctor who was among of those arrested in a buy-bust in Cebu City last May 15.

Prosecutor Ernesto Narido Jr. found evidence to charge Dr. John Paul Camello, 37, with violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“Said accused, with deliberate intent, and without being authorized by law, did knowingly visit a den...operated by Eduardo Hermogino,” reads the charge sheet.

The Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency ( PDEA) 7 agents nabbed Camello and 10 other drug personalit­ies in separate buy-busts in the villages of Mambaling, Talamban and Sta. Cruz.

PDEA seized from the suspects a total of 785 grams of suspected shabu worth P1.7 million.

Camello stepped out of jail after posting a bail.

PDEA informatio­n officer Leia Albiar said that Camello was caught visiting a drug den in Sta. Cruz.

Camello is a practicing medi- cal doctor in Bohol. He graduated from a medical school in Cebu City in 2006.

Camello told reporters that he went to the drug den to visit a patient, whose identity he did not divulge.
