Police are eyeing more persons of interest behind the death of an accountant last Saturday afternoon after she was robbed of her colleagues’ salaries near a church in the South Road Properties.

Senior Insp. Eduard Sanchez of the Mambaling Police Station said that they are gathering more information to identify the gunman and driver of his getaway motorcycle.

“We will also consider anyone in the construction firm, staff or construction workers who were absent when the crime hap- pened,” he said.

Aside from the closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera that captured the incident, police will also check the involvement of the security guard and the driver of the accountant’s vehicle when she withdrew P760,000 for the Viscon Construction’s workers.

Jennelyn Aquino, 25, who hailed from Bulacan, succumbed to three gunshot wounds on her head and body.

In the initial investigation of the Cebu City Police Office’s Homicide Section, four persons were behind the robbery and the murder of Aquino.

Felboy Arcenio, 37, who drove Aquino to the office, said that a man wearing a full-face helmet and a black jacket approached the victim after she disembarked from the car.

The man then aimed a .45 pistol at her. Another man came and grabbed the victim’s bag.

Another two men who were also wearing full-face helmets were on a nearby red motorcycle and served as their back-up.

Arcenio said the two approached him and demanded for the car key at gunpoint.

In fear, he turned the car around and bumped the motorcycle, which he believed to be the robbers’ getaway vehicle.

He then left the car and shouted for help.

Arcenio was heard by security guard Allan Pabuaya, 50, who was employed at the construction site.

However, one of the robbers pointed a gun on the guard’s face. He then hid while he heard gunshots.

Police recovered P274,735 cash on the road and slugs of caliber .45 pistol.

The robbers carted away a total of P485,265.

The construction company pledged to cooperate with the police to catch the suspects who remained at large. /
