Ateneo, STC, Razkals win in Tayud Futsal

Ateneo FC, St. Theresa's College (STC) FC and Talisay Razkals took a title each in the 3rd Tayud Futsal Cup over the weekend at the Tayud Elementary School Gym and the Barangay Tayud Gym.

Ateneo FC walked away with the Girls Under-18 crown with a close 1-0 victory over the Talisay Razkals.

Ateneo FC took the top seed in Group A after edging out Talisay Razkals on goal difference.

Ateneo FC slipped past Don Bosco Liloan with a penalty shootout win in the semi-finals, while Talisay Razkals beat Barili FC, 1-0.

Itsuko Bacatan of Ateneo FC was named MVP.

STC FC, on the other hand, totally outclassed Talisay Razkals, 5-0, for the Girls Under-15 crown.

STC FC had a dominant campaign, going unbeaten in the group stage and crushing Labogon FC, 4-1, in the semifinals. Talisay Razkals beat Ateneo FC by penalty shootout in the semi-finals.

STC FC's Jodi Marie Banzon, who scored four goals in the tournament, was awarded the MVP plum.

Talisay Razkals, however, finally took a title in the tournament with a convincing 5-2 victory over Guardian Striker FC for the Mixed Under-12 diadem.

Talisay Razkals finished No. 1 in the elimination round, while Guardian Striker FC ended up second.

Talisay Razkals' Vince Niaga was awarded with the MVP trophy.
