BARILI FARMERS GET TITLES FOR 21.5-HECTARE AGRICULTURAL LAND
This 21.5-hectare agricultural lands covered under CARP are located in Barangays Luhod, Malolos, Gunting and Mantalongon Barili Agrarian Reform Officer Nestor Castro encouraged farmer-beneficiaries to fully use their awarded lands
Twenty-five agrarian reform beneficiaries from Barili town received Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) for 21.5 hectares of land that they have been tilling. Aside from the land ownership, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Cebu also offered the farmers programs and services that they can avail themselves of, such as trainings, credit assistance, farm machineries and supplies, marketing assistance, and other support services.
The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Cebu distributed certificates of land ownership award (CLOA) to 25 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Barili town, Cebu last May 12.
It was held at the Barili municipal conference hall.
The agricultural land, with an aggregate area of 21.5077 hectares, is covered under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program located in Barangays Luhod, Malolos, Gunting and Mantalongon.
Nestor Castro, Barili municipal agrarian reform program officer, led the distribution of CLOAs to the beneficiaries.
Castro, in his speech during the ceremony, encouraged the ARBs to make the best use out of their awarded lands and to actively take part in the activities of the agrarian reform based-organization through which they can be assisted by the DAR.
He said that there are various programs and services of the DAR that farmers can avail themselves of, such as trainings under the capacity development programs, credit assistance, farm machineries, marketing assistance, and other support services from the government.
DAR Central Visayas Director Alejandro Otacan congratulated the farmer-beneficiaries.
Land distribution is provided under the Constitution to distribute agricultural land to the landless.
