STUDYING TIPS IN PUBLIC
Gone are the days of frolicking under the sun and worryfree nights because summer is about to end and the start of the school year is just around the corner. When it comes to studying, know how to lessen distractions and be able to study anywhere even in public spaces by looking for these five elements.
Comfort. Before anything else, comfort should be a priority. Not too comfortable though; otherwise, one can fall asleep. It is undeniable that at home comfort is assured but it is quite possible that staying at home to study will make one lazier and feel a bit more laidback. Staying somewhere with only comfortable seats and a few people around will make one feel more awake and focused. Access to information. Ability to access information in the place where one is studying is the second priority. Wi-fi is a must for easier research and data gathering although it can be a tool for distraction. Staying in a library full of books about the topic one is studying about can also be a great place to stay in. The pages of a book may tend to get dragging from time to time but it will never betray one; just make sure it’s an updated edition.
Plug in anytime. Find a place with electric outlets that are within reach so that at any point one may easily charge gadgets like cellphones or laptops. Appropriate noise levels. Noise is acceptable because too much silence amplifies one’s thoughts and that is not helpful if one wants to study. But too much noise is also a distraction so find a place with acceptable noise levels, and if it gets too noisy just block the noise and make it your background by putting on noise-cancelling headphones.
Staying for long is acceptable. Students often choose coffee shops to study in because of the enumerated elements above, but a few truths have been said about coffee shops wanting to cater to more customers than just overstaying students. So it’s best to look for places where staying for a long time is a custom like study centers, libraries, tutoring centers etc.
Take note of these things and be ready to get back to school because studying is easier when one lessens the distractions.
