SOBERANO TO START TRAINING FOR DARNA ROLE, GETS GIFT FROM LOCSIN
Liza Soberano formally announces in a TV Patrol interview that she accepted the Darna role. She said she will start training for the role in the coming weeks, says a report from the Philippine Entertainment Portal. Following the news that she will take over the role, former Darna starrer Angel Locsin sent Soberano copies of Darna comics. Soberano’s manager Ogie Diaz posted a photograph of the actress holding the comic books that Locsin gave to demonstrate that the latter approves of the new Darna actress.

While it was already announced last week that she will take on the Pinay superheroine role last handled by Angel Locsin, Soberano made the confirmation in a TV Patrol interview Tuesday night.
“Yes, it's confirmed! I already accepted the role of Darna,” said Soberano.
She will start training for the role in the coming weeks, according to a report from the Philippine Entertainment Portal.
Following the announcement that the 19-year-old actress bagged the role of Darna, former-Darna Locsin sent the teenage actress copies of Darna comics.
Soberano's manager, Ogie Diaz, posted a photo of the actress holding the comics given by Locsin. Diaz said it is proof that Locsin approves of Soberano as the new Darna.
Soberano said she's excited with the new project and thinks it will help her career and her growth as an actor.
