For physically abusing his 25-yearold live-in partner, an alleged cohort of the late drug lord Jeffrey “Jaguar” Diaz was arrested in Sitio Chicago, Barangay Duljo-Fatima last Wednesday afternoon.

Arnulfo “Hapon” Abellana, 52, a known drug pusher and cohort of Diaz, was arrested after his live-in partner (name withheld) reported to the Mambaling Police Station his illegal transactions at around 5 p.m. This was after he allegedly hurt her.

“She was full of bruises and told us to accompany her so she could get her things. She said,’Sir, the drugs are still there. You can see it,’” Senior Insp. Eduard Sanchez said.

Sanchez said Abellana surrendered to the Oplan Tokhang program of the government, but continued with his illegal activities.

“He asked the help of barangay officials in clearing his name but our monitoring turned positive,” Sanchez said.

Illegal drugs worth P185,000 at the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value was confiscated from him.

The Mambaling chief said Abellana was highly mobile and would often change location to evade authorities.

In an interview, Abellana admitted that he sells drugs but only in small quantities.

“I don’t have money if I won’t sell drugs,” he said.

Sanchez said that Abellana’s clients were students and residents in the area.

The Mambaling chief said they are monitoring people who worked with Diaz, although most of them had moved to other provices.
