Martial Law guide released in Davao

The Davao City Informatio­n Office released on Friday, June 2, 30 things that should be remembered by business owners upon the implementa­tion of Martial law.

The guidelines gave specific instructio­ns for Davao-based businesses, visiting business people, and business operating at night for graveyard shift.

On the list, Davao based businesses were required to provide emergency plans for respective premises. They are encouraged to invest private security and modern security equipment, and to retain their security personnel to respond to any incident with an emergency plan in order.

Business establishm­ents are advised to orient their employees on the guidelines issued by the City Government.

Company guards were also advised to take note all the arrival and departures of employees from the office premises. It was also advised that company outings should only be held at licensed and accredited tourist sites in Davao City and the company must contact the City Tourisms Operations Office for the list of sites.

In riding public transport, the city advised workers to take note of the taxi cab numbers and to provide one hour allowance for travel time to consider checkpoint delays.

“If your business is affiliated with an industry associatio­n, regularly coordinate with them for specific action plans that affect your sector,” the guideline states.

Direct coordinati­on with the government offices when processing permits, licenses, and other documents was encouraged while transactio­n with unknown and third party groups was discourage­d.

Meanwhile, for visiting business people, the city advise them to plan trips to Davao City ahead of time due to security checks at the city’s entry points.

Foreigners on business trips were advised to ensure that travel documents showing purpose of the visit is with them all the time.

“Our security personnel may request for you to present them together with your passport. Make sure that you have the accurate informatio­n of the hotel or inn that you are staying in. These include the complete name, address, and telephone number of the hotel or inn. Keep this with you at all times,” the guideline read. /
