President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the military and the police to kill all terrorists on sight saying, it’s not good to detain them and charge them in court.

Duterte was at the Mactan-Benito Ebuen Air Base in Lapu-Lapu City yesterday to meet with the soldiers and police officers stopped the members of the Abu Sayyaf Group in Bohol last April.

The President said he is not ready to talk about the possibility of a ceasefire especially that many soldiers already died in the fight against local terror groups.

“If you were able to shoot them in the head, finish them off in the heart,” said Duterte.

Starting May 23, Duterte placed the entire island of Mindanao under martial rule for 60 days, amid skirmishes between government forces and members of local terror group Maute in Marawi City in Lanao del Sur.

Duterte said that members of the Maute Group reportedly went abroad where they met with Islamic State (ISIS) leaders and started practicing the latter’s belief.

The President said that the reported foreigners who joined the Maute Group must also die.

Duterte, however, said that he cautioned the government troops against bombing anywhere in Marawi to protect the innocent civilians.

Early last week, 10 soldiers were killed and seven others were wounded in a bungled air offensives initially staged to attack members of the Maute terror group.

Duterte said that Nur Misuari of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) offered about 3,000 combatants to fight the local terror group. He said that he plans to enlist them in the military.

He said that he will also welcome if members of the New People’s Army and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front will help in the fight against terrorism.

Duterte said that he has to solve the problem in Mindanao, especially that some rebels are using their being a Muslim for ultra-nationalism.

“We should be one nation, one flag,” Duterte said.

Meanwhile, Duterte assured that he will give the military the best air assets, equipment and firearms to fight terrorism.

Duterte said that his administration will not buy second-hand aircraft, which he said was practiced by past administrations.

“We will not buy second-hand (aircraft) not even from the United States or China,” the President said.

Duterte has ordered the military and the police to do their job to eradicate terrorism and to maintain peace and order to ensure the safety of the people.

“I am not asking (for) any loyalty from you. Just remain true to the flag and the Constitution,” Duterte said.
