1 7 DRUG PUSHERS FALL IN ANTIILLEGA­L DRUG OPS

Anti-narcotics operatives caught seven suspected drug pushers in three villages of Danao City in the past two days. Seized from the suspects were 67 packs of suspected shabu worth P673,070. The buy-busts were conducted in Barangays Looc, Tuburan Sur and Poblacion. Arrested were Gloria Saturos, Ralph Loberanes, Pastor Mansueto, Danilo Mondoc, Gerardo Gonsaga, William Juntilla and Niño Jay Mangas. The suspects will face complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /

2 DRUG BUST YIELDS 4 SUSPECTS; TARGET ESCAPES

Four people, including a minor, were arrested in a buy-bust in Barangay Tangke, Talisay City at 4 p.m. yesterday. Recovered from the suspects were 50 small packs of suspected shabu worth P17,700. Local police conducted the operation after receiving reports that Manilyn Dejacto was selling drugs in the area. Dejacto, however, evaded arrest after one of her cohorts notified her of the operation. Arrested during the buy-bust were Dejacto’s 14-year-old errand boy; Catalino Bejec, 43; Wilfredo Canedo, 40; and Joel Flores, 20. /

3 MAN KILLED BY BROTHERS; SUSPECTS FLED

A 25-year-old man was allegedly killed by another man in Sitio Tagaytay, Barangay Lanipga, Carmen last Friday afternoon. Police identified the victim as Ronelo Roble Bueno, who succumbed to a gunshot wound in the head. Alleged gunman Ramelito Capute Jopia, 23, escaped the village with his brother Ignacio, 18. The brothers were reportedly mad at the victim after he reported them to the police as the ones who stole his electric grinder. Bueno was rushed to the Cebu Provincial Hospital in Danao City, where the doctor declared him dead on arrival. /
