SIBLING: PIA’S ‘MMK’ STORY UNFAIR TO DAD
Saturday's Maala-ala Mo Kaya ( MMK) was one of the most talked-about episodes in the history of the longest-running drama anthology in the Philippines. It featured the story of 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach, as portrayed by this generation's hottest actress, Liza Soberano.
#MMKPiaWurtzbach became the top trending topic worldwide while #LizaSoberano was in sixth place.
Days after the episode aired, people are still talking about it especially since Pia's half-brother, Alexander Wurtzbach, blasted his sister on his Facebook account. He found his father's portrayal in the episode unfair.
The MMK episode showed how Pia's father, Uwe Wurtzbach (Lee O'Brien), had multiple mistresses before finally leaving Pia, her mom and sister Sarah for another woman. From Cagayan de Oro, Pia, her mom and Sarah moved to Manila. Pia tried to call her father but he was too busy to talk to her.
“Sa lahat lahat ayaw ko yung sisiraan mo ang patay na. Wala ng kinalaman yun eh. Karmahin sana kayo parang walang pinag-aralan. Wag mung dadalahin ang apelyedo na yan kung alam mo ganyan ugali ng tatay mo (Of all the things I hate, it's when you malign the dead. He doesn't have anything to do with this anymore. I hope you meet your karma; as if you weren't educated. Don't use that family name if you know your father was terrible),” Alexander's Facebook status read.
“Kala ko ba babaero sya at wala sya kwenta bakit mahal mo
parin sya (I thought he was a playboy and was useless, why do you still love him? (You are a freaking) liar. Don't use my father's surname if you don't like him. You're a millionaire now so change it! Don't say your money will help you. You are a liar,” continued Alexander.
Pia and Alexander share the same father.
As of yesterday afternoon, the status received close to 5,000 reactions, has been shared over 1,300 times, with comments reaching over 4,000.
According to Rappler, Pia's sister Sarah commented on Alexander's post: “Perhaps you want me to dig up the messages you and your mother sent to us. You might just get embarrassed. Stop it, there it is, fame! Embrace it!”
Last Monday, there was also a comment from a woman named Robie Asingua, who is said to be the live-in partner of Uwe before he passed away. She said: “What the hell are you doing Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach—making a false story? Oh yeah, you are a big (liar). Your papa never ask money from you. Shame (on you)…”
Asingua is Alexander's mother. There was a scene on the
MMK episode, following Pia's first-runner-up win in the 2013 Binibining Pilipinas, where Uwe called Pia and asked for money because he was ill.
Pia said no since she hadn't earned enough by then.
Pia chose to stay mum on the issue. Instead, she has been posting photos of her stay in New York City with fellow beauty queens Megan Young (Miss World 2013) and Kylie Versoza (Miss International 2016).
Asingua also said in another post: “Just because she already made a name for herself, she shouldn't try to blacken the memory of her father. Maybe she wants me to be interviewed so everything will come to light. Even when her father died, and was buried, she didn't even offer five cents. And she just won Bb. Pilipinas then.”
When asked if Sarah intends to gather evidence against Asingua and Alexander, she replied: "Mamshie, I'm compiling and looking. I have a gun but I don't have bullets).”
