DID TAYLOR FOLLOW KATY TO SPOTIFY?

-

Taylor Swift is getting back together with a few of her famous exes, including Spotify and Pandora.

The pop star's representative confirmed her full catalog will return to all streaming platforms Friday (US time). Her official Instagram fan account, Taylor Nation, posted the news Thursday.

Swift's five albums, including 1989, will also be available on Tidal, Amazon and other streaming platforms, her rep said in a statement.

"In celebration of 1989 selling over 10 million albums worldwide and the RIAA's (Recording Industry Association of America) 100 million song certification announcement, Taylor wants to thank her fans by making her entire back catalog available to all streaming services tonight at midnight," the statement said.

Swift removed her music from Spotify in 2014 around the release of 1989, a Grammy- winning multi-hit pop album. No streaming service besides Apple Music was able to stream it. Swift allowed Apple to stream it after the music platform decided to pay artists royalties during its free three-month trial.

But music experts believe there is something more to Swift's return to these streaming platforms other than gratitude for fans.

Katy Perry is expected to drop her new album, Witness, Friday midnight (US time).

Swift and Perry have a very public feud. It all started when Swift told Rolling Stone about a pop star, who Swift was never sure was a friend or a foe. Swift never mentioned the pop star's name but all fingers point to Perry especially after Swift released the song Bad Blood.

Perry kept her mouth shut until this year when she had to do press in preparation for the release of her new album.

While doing “Carpool Karaoke” with Late Late Show host James Corden, Perry basically confirmed what Swift told Rolling Stone but in her version.

In Swift's version, the 27-yearold singer said: "She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me."

Perry told Corden that some of the dancers who joined her on her Dreams tour informed her they were joining Swift's Red Tour between 2013 and 2014. But Perry told them to make sure there is some leeway in the contract since she's going on her Prismatic tour in a few months.

When it was time for Perry to do her Prismatic tour, she informed the dancers in Swift's tour.

The dancers tried to reason with Swift's management but were instead fired.

It didn't help the drama that Perry and Swift dated John Mayer, albeit not at the same time.

Will Swift's return to Spotify, etc, hurt Perry's Witness?
