IMHO, MYOH is totally rad

The ‘90s may be “on trend” right now, but those who grew up in the ‘90s can relate how koosh balls, Super Mario and cassette tapes rocked our world. Brazilian flip-flop brand Havaianas brings back the ‘90s with its annual highly anticipated customization event. Make Your Own Havaianas (MYOH), IMHO (In My Humble Opinion), is never to be missed. One definitely doesn’t have to be a ‘90s kid to love this year’s commemorative pair, and all ages will love getting to pick out their own soles, straps and decorative pins.

This year’s commemorative black sole printed with red, blue, green and yellow pixels looks like the eight-bit video games we used to play in the arcade—old-school fun that no tablet can beat (sorry, iPad). Those who prefer solid colors can choose from citrus yellow, steel gray, olive green, turquoise and more, while straps come in bright pink, neon orange, marine blue, metallic rose gold and others. For all soles, there’s still a choice of the regular Havaianas Top style or Slim and selected soles include sizes for children.

The pins to deck out your customized Havaianas are always exciting to look forward to, since you can’t get them during any other event or season. This year, pins include a television set, a video game character icon, a cassette tape and a boom box. Also new in this year’s lineup of pins are the glow-in-the- dark smiley, lips, lighting bolt and star, because you were the epitome of cool if you had glow-in-the- dark stickers on your bedroom walls and ceiling back then. One of the strap choices is also fully glowin-the- dark. How rad is that?

Cebuanos have more time to mix and match their own pairs; before, the event would only run for a few days in one venue. Now, two MYOH schedules and dates have been set. MYOH Cebu is open to the public from June 9 to 12 at All Flip Flops in Ayala Center Cebu and June 15 to 18 at All Flip Flops in SM Seaside City Cebu.
