MUSICIANS HITTING THE HIGH NOTES

- JUJEMAY G. AWIT / Editor @yourJGA

Based on the recently released Celebrity 100 issue by Forbes magazine, musicians are the highest-paid entertainers in the world. Diddy topped the list, earning $130 million in the last 12 months. Although the dough he made was not solely from music, his Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour helped put him on that spot.

Diddy’s runner-up is also in music: Beyonce, who earned $105 million. Half of those who made it in the top 10 are musicians: Diddy, Beyonce, Drake (fourth), The Weeknd (sixth) and Coldplay (eighth).

Of the Celebrity 100 list, 37 of them are musicians.

Athletes are also paid a lot. In the top 10, two are athletes: football (or soccer) star Christiano Ronaldo is on the fifth spot while Lebron James is on 10th. But 30 athletes—nine of whom are basketball players made it in the Celebrity 100 list.

There were only two authors that made it to the list, but both are in the top 10: J.K. Rowling is on the third spot after earning $95 million and James Patterson is on the ninth spot with $87 million.

There were 17 actors, including comedians, in the Celebrity 100. But not one of them made it to the top 15. The highest-ranking actor is Jerry Seinfeld at No. 18.

There were also 11 media personalities in the list including shock jock Howard Stern on the seventh position, Dr. Phil McGraw on 15th and Ellen DeGeneres on the 16th. David Copperfield, the lone magician in the list, ranks 24th with earnings of $61.5 million.

Here are some interesting tidbits from the list.
