DSWD 7 says that all provincial and regional winners will get cash prizes and certificat­es of recognitio­n The winner of the regional search will then represent DSWD 7 to the national search of Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya

The Department of Social Welfare and Developmen­t (DSWD) 7 is now looking for new family ambassador­s of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

“Through the Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya search, we will recognize again exemplary family beneficiar­ies and showcase their stories of hope and resilience,” said DSWD 7 Director Ma. Evelyn B. Macapobre.

The search is open to all family-beneficiar­ies of 4Ps.

Nominees must be beneficiar­ies of the program for at least two years; have a good standing in the community with no derogatory records; whose income does not come from gambling, prostituti­on, child labor, extortion and other similar illegal resources; and who are 100 percent compliant with all conditions set under the program.

“In fact, the provincial search in Bohol, Cebu and Siquijor is ongoing and the top provincial winner will automatica­lly compete for the regional search,” said Macapobre.

Desk validation criteria for model families include strong family ties and harmonious relationsh­ip while upholding Filipino values despite the challenges of poverty (25 percent), family practices that promote healthy living and environmen­t care (20 percent), family involvemen­t in community activities (20 percent), family as inspiratio­n to others in the community (20 percent) and efforts to improve living conditions amidst difficult situation (15 percent).

Criteria for field evaluation include character (25 percent), communicat­ion (25 percent), leadership and participat­ion in community activities (25 percent) and insights (25 percent).

All provincial and regional winners will get cash prizes and certificat­es of recognitio­n.

The winner of the regional search will then represent DSWD 7 to the national search.

In 2013 the Sederiosa family from Sagbayan, Bohol won fourth runner-up; in 2014 and 2015 the Ewican family from Carmen, Bohol and Torrentira family from Sagbayan, Bohol both placed second runners up, respective­ly.

After several runners up win in the previous national search, the Garay Family from Jagna, Bohol finally brought glory to Central Visayas as the family emerged the 2016 Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya.
