The stage has been set for the Division Finals of the 2017 Cebu Governor's Cup Inter-Cities/Municipalities Basketball Tournament, which will begin with the South Division on Friday.

The prelude to the championship will begin with south top seed Minglanilla hosting Dalaguete Agri-Saurs on Friday at the Minglanilla Sports Complex for Game 1 of the best-of-3 series.

The North Finals will begin on Saturday with the undefeated Mandaue City hosting Consolacion Sarok Weavers at the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex.

Cebu Provincial Sports Commission (CPSC) Executive Director Atty. Ramil Abing urged the contenders to make the necessary preparations for their hosting especially on venue security and the presence of a medical team.

“We would like to urge the teams concerned that during your hosting of the (Division) Finals please make the necessary arrangements. Like the floor mop personnel, lights, game clock and shot clock, security personnel and medical team. The governor will not be around for the Division Finals but Vice Governor (Agnes) Magpale will be around,” Abing said at the meeting called for the four contending teams at the White Gold Restaurant yesterday.

Game 2 of the South Finals will be on Sunday, June 25 in Dalaguete while for the North it will be on June 26 in Consolacion.

The rubber matches, if any, are scheduled on June 27 and 28 and will be hosted by Minglanilla and Mandaue City respectively.

The winners of the Division Finals will go to battle for the Governor's Cup title, which will begin on July 4.

Since ranking is not applicable on this situation, the team to host the first game of the best-of-3 series will be known through drawing of lots.

There will be a Game 3, the deciding game will be held at the Cebu Coliseum.
