Class of 2018 announced
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced the new stars to be added in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
For film, the actresses who will receive their stars next year are Kristen Dunst, Jennifer Lawrence and Zoe Saldana, reported E! News.
Dunst, who has been working since she was three years old doing television commercials, proudly told her mother about the honor. She shared a snap of their conversation on Instagram.
“Getting my star on the walk of fame!” the 35-year-old actress told her mom, who replied: “OMG. I'm crying and (I'm) at Vons. I'm so happy. Tell me more Sat. Can we celebrate?”
The film actors on the list are Jack Black, Jeff Goldblum, Mark Hamill and Nick Nolte. Fate of the
Furious director F. Gary Gray is also in the list, along with Gina Lollobrigida and Minnie Mouse, whose partner Mickey already has his own star.
TV actors receiving their Hollywood stars are Anthony Anderson, Gillian Anderson, Lynda Carter, RuPaul, Taraji P. Henson, Eric McCormack, Niecy Nash and Mandy Patinkin.
“Didn't see this coming,” Henson said on Instagram.
Also in the television category, American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy and Grey's
Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes will be getting their stars as well.
The late Steve Irwin and Bernie Mac will also be posthumously honored.
Musicians who will receive their stars are Mary J. Blige,
Petula Clark, Harry Connick Jr., Ice T, Snoop Dogg and Weird Al Yankovic.
American Idol winner Carrie Underwood and judge Simon Cowell will get their stars, too.
Virgin Records founder Richard Branson will also get a star for his contributions to music.
Completing the list are theater veterans Charles Aznavour and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Incidentally, Miranda and Yankovic were together when they learned they will be separately receiving their stars on the Hollywood Boulevard.
“I was hanging out with THIS guy when we both found out. Coincidentally, he’s getting one this year too!” tweeted Yankovic along with a photo of him and Miranda.
Miranda retweeted the photo. He also tweeted: The craziest part of all this was I was having lunch with (Yankovic) when somebody told us we'd both be getting stars. For real.”
