4 bros nabbed for murder

Police arrested four brothers for their alleged involvement in the death of a construction worker in Sitio Dandan, Barangay Poblacion 1, Carcar City last Sunday night.

Victim Reymond Ramas, 26, was allegedly mauled by the Campugan brothers—Liberato, Filomeno, Leonardo, and Abundio. The suspects’ nephew, Luigi Juson, also joined in punching the victim.

Their other brother, Abundio, stabbed Ramas several times.

PO2 Ariel Yap said Abundio and Juson escaped arrest, while the rest of the Campugans were caught after a chase.

Investigators are looking into personal grudge between Abundio and Ramas as the reason be- hind the murder.

Ramas’s live-in partner was the former lover of Abundio, with whom she has two children. The woman bore a child with Ramas.

Before the incident happened at 6 p.m., Ramas was drinking with his friends when the suspects arrived and bullied him. Ramas fought with them, but he later went away.

Ramas, however, returned and fought the suspects for the second time. This was the time Abundio stabbed him.

The suspects then dragged his body to a vegetable plot.

Ramas’s live-in partner, who witnessed the murder, rushed to the police station to report it.
