Drug ops in Danao, 2 towns yield P400T shabu, 12 persons

Twelve drug personalit­ies were caught, while three minors were rescued in separate buy-busts in the towns of Consolacio­n and Compostela, and in Danao City in the past two days.

At 2 p.m. last Saturday, Gregorio Cal Pintor, 29, who was identified as a new player in the illegal drug trade, was caught in Barangay Lamac, Consolacio­n.

Operatives seized 35 grams of white crystallin­e substance believed to be shabu worth P413,000 and 30 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth P1,000 from his possession.

Two girls, aged 16 and 17, were rescued during the operation. One of the minors is reportedly Pintor’s girlfriend.

The minors were brought to the Consolacio­n Municipal Social Welfare Department.

Eight hours later, alleged high-value target Ereneo Perales Tejero, 47, and his alleged cohort Rodelia Pulvera Valencia, 45, were arrested in Barangay Bagalnga, Compostela.

A 17-year-old boy whom they allegedly used as a drug runner was rescued.

Tejero and Valencia allegedly yielded nine packs of suspected shabu, drug parapherna­lia, and a plastic box container.

Selling of illegal drugs is a non-bailable offense, according Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002

during Oplan Limpyo Danao, an anti-illegal drugs program of Danao City Police Station.

Chief Insp. Gerard Pelare, city police chief, said that they launched the operation at 3:05 a.m. and it ended at 4:10 a.m. in the villages of Cogon-Cruz, Guinacot, and Cambiohan-Poblacion.

The suspected pushers were identified as Rowel Capuno, Alfredo Mangas, and Rhona Bitoon, while the alleged users were Jessi Patena, Ramilo Batulan, Eric Almagro, Erniel Casia, Melchor Laurito, and Erniel Casia.

Operatives seized 27 small sachets of suspected shabu worth P17,110.

Complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the suspects. /
