The Cebu-based Rider Omega Tri Team showed their force and added another feather in their cap as they clinched the second title in the 2017 Tri United Leg 2 in Subic Bay yesterday.

Rider Omega dominated the Team Challenge anew with the lowest combined time of 38 hours in a 2-kilometer swim, 60K bike and 15K run race, to make it two in a row after winning the Tri United Leg 1 last February.

The Rider Omega Pro outlasted Manila teams Sante Barley and Fit- ness First, who settled for second and third places, respectively.

Paul Jumamil had another solid performance and beat Benjamin Rana for the men’s elite title following a victory against national team members in the Musa Man Tri DavNor in Tagum City one week ago.

In the men’s age group race, Rider Omega’s Banjo Norte and Joland Olmilla had a 1-2 finish in the 19-24 class, while Kristiane Lim, Brian Borling and Welmar Saavedra took all podium spots in the men’s 30-34.

Cianyl Gonzalez and Maria Hodges both finished in second place in the women’s 19-24 division and 24-30 class.

“I’m very happy with the performance of our athletes, they were faster compared to last year,” said Tonyson Luther Lee, the team manager of Rider Omega, who won all but the second leg in the 2016 Tri United Series.

After getting the work done in Tri United 2, the team’s focus now shifts to the Ironman 70.3 Philippines in Cebu on Aug. 6.
