New music overload

-

After four years, Kesha is finally back in the music business with the upcoming release of her new album Rainbow. Her last album, Warrior, was released in 2012 yet.

Last Thursday, Kesha released the single titled Praying. It instantly became the top-trending topic on Twitter worldwide.

In a Twitter video, Kesha told fans: “Your support and love and kindness have gotten me through hands-down the hardest time of my entire life.”

Since 2014, Kesha has been embroiled in a legal battle with her former producer and manager Dr. Luke. She accused him of sexual assault and he wouldn't release her from his professional clutches.

Praying is Kesha's first solo effort since 2013's Deconstructed EP, according to E! News. Last year she was a featured vocalist in Zedd's True Colors.

Rainbow, which is scheduled for release next month, will still be produced by Sony/RCA, the parent company of Dr. Luke's Kemosabe Records. Sony refused to release Kesha, who is under contract. But since the singer is no longer comfortable working with Dr. Luke, it was agreed that the parent company will handle her new music.

“There was a very long, long, long period of time where I was not sure if I was ever going to be able to put out music again, and that’s all I’d ever wanted to do since I could remember being a person, so when I couldn’t, that was really difficult,” said Kesha in a press event in London.

The album is called Rainbow because the storm is over and she's ready to begin with the good stuff.

Giving Kesha a run for her money Thursday night was Liam Payne, whose collaboration with Kesha fan, Zedd, became the second top-trending topic on Twitter shortly after it was released.

Payne and Zedd released Get Low, which Billboard described as a hip-hop-tinged track.

Get Low is Payne's second solo effort since departing from One Direction. Strip Down was released in May.
