VILMA, PAOLO WIN ACTING AWARDS
Vilma Santos and Paolo Ballesteros won acting awards in the 1st Eddys, which was created by entertainment editors to recognize films that mirror today’s society.
Ang Babaeng Humayo received the top awards in the 1st Entertainment Editors Choice Awards or Eddys: Best Film and Best Director for Lav Diaz.
The Star for All Seasons, Vilma Santos, received the Best Actress award for the movie
Everything About Her. Paolo Ballesteros, on the other hand, received the Best Actor trophy for Die Beautiful. Angel Locsin bagged the Best Supporting Actress trophy for Everything About Her, while her La Luna Sangre husband, John Lloyd Cruz, received the Best Supporting Actor award for Ang
Babaeng Humayo.
The first Eddys was hosted by father-and-son Edu and Luis Manzano. Incidentally, the winning actresses were the hosts' exes. Luis, who dated Locsin, is the son of Edu and Santos.
The awarding was held at the Kia Theatre in Cubao.
According to the Philippine Entertainment Portal, The Eddys is the entertainment editors' way of encouraging Filipino filmmakers, producers, writers, actors and other artists in the Philippine movie industry to continue pursuing their passion of creating films that mirror the realities of society.
