Healthy Lunchbox Eats

-

It’s tempting to just grab whatever you find at the junk food aisle and make that your daily recess fare. But we all know deep down that it’s not very good for our bodies.

Once in a while, we do need to eat something healthy for our bodies to function properly. But when we have to go to school early, preparing baon can be tiresome that we end up getting whatever we find in the pantry.

The good news is, there are quick healthy food items that make great snacks. Here are some:

POPCORN

Without all that butter and powdered flavors, popcorn can be healthy. Add just a few pinches of salt or some grated cheese and you have yourself a crunchy snack.

YOGHURT

Instead of ice cream, this is the healthier alternative. Add some nuts, fruit or a drizzle of honey and it becomes a tasty dessert.

FRUITS

A single banana can be very filling. So is an apple. If you've got a sweet tooth, fruits will satisfy your cravings. If you'd rather have drier food at snack time, there are also dried fruits available at some grocery stores.

HARD BOILED EGGS

If you don't have time to eat eggs at breakfast, take them to school and have some during recess.

NUTS

If you're fond of crunchy chips, try munching on nuts. They give you all that protein that you need without the harmful preservatives. Just make sure these nuts are not coated in powdered flavorings or sugar.

MILK

Instead of soda or juice drinks with high sugar content, a pack of milk can give you energy and quench your thirst.
