Joey Mari de Guzman only had three points in the game, but it mattered most to help the Eperformax Reds notch its first win, following a thrilling 58- 57 win over Sykes Pioneers in the Elite Classic Division game of the 2017 CSCC E- League held at the City Sports Club- Cebu gym last Saturday.

Trailing all the way until the final seconds of the game, de Guzman sank his lone basket, a triple, in the final five seconds of the game that reversed an erstwhile 55-57 losing cause to a one-point win for the Reds, and snapped a three game losing streak while handing Sykes its third straight loss in as many games.

For his heroics, de Guzman was awarded with the best-player of the game award even as Patrick Ybañez topscored for Eperformax with 15 points and Clyde Alob contributing 11 markers while putting the 20 points performance of Sherwin Anghay to naught for the losing Pioneers.

Both teams started flat before the All-Stars broke the game wide open following a 24-10 blast in the third period that gave Teleperformance a 49-30 head start in the fourth quarter.
