READY TO LOVE

BUT MARTINEZ IS NOT IN A HURRY TO FIND PARTNER

Two years after the death of his wife Liezl, Albert Martinez said he is ready to fall in love again—not that he's actually actively seeking a girlfriend.

“It's a hard journey. So I'm not in a hurry,” Martinez told the Philippine Entertainment Portal in Tagalog. “Whatever comes into my life, then so be it.”

Martinez said that for now, he is focusing on work. He currently stars in La Luna Sangre, top-billed by ABS-CBN's hottest love team, KathNiel: Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.

The actor admitted it would be hard to fall in love again. He and Liezl, who succumbed to cancer in March 2015, were together for over 30 years. They were married for 27 years.

“If it happens, it happens,” Martinez said about love. But for now, he is not really looking for it.

It's not like Martinez is really devoid of love. In fact, he is looking forward to the arrival of another love in January 2018: his first grandchild.

Martinez had three children with Liezl: Alyanna, Alissa and Alfonso.

Eldest daughter Alyanna is pregnant with her first child with husband Roy Macam, a photographer.

“I'm excited because my children are already adults. I guess it's time for me to go through that cycle of life again: to love a baby. All my children are leading their separate lives, right?” said Martinez.

“So I'm preparing to spoil my grandchild,” the 56-year-old actor said.
