DSWD TO REMOVE SOME BENEFICIARIES OF 4PS
DWSD plans to conduct recertification process on the 376,341 4Ps beneficiaries in Central Visayas, which seeks to determine if they are still qualified to receive cash aid.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 7 will remove some beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
The removal of some of the program beneficiaries is part of the recertification process that will be conducted by DWSD.
Joan Florabel Felicio, DSWD 7 4Ps grievance officer, said that the recertification will determine if some of the beneficiaries still need to receive the financial assistance from the government.
At least 376,341 4Ps beneficiaries from Central Visayas, 221,810 of whom are from Cebu, will undergo the recertification process.
Felicio said they plan to conduct the recertification process before the end of the year, once the guidelines for its implementation will be drafted.
Once implemented, Felicio said there is a possibility that a beneficiary will lose his or her P500 monthly health grant.
However, other grants such as the monthly educational subsidy and rice subsidy worth P600 will remain.
The education subsidy is granted to families depending on the number of children who are enrolled in school.
DSWD provides P300 cash aid to elementary students and P500 to high school students. /
