Online buyer matching program launched

Member companies of the Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation (CFIF) composed of export furniture manufacturers and material suppliers in the region gathered on July 25 for the CFIF’s 43rd General Membership Meeting and Election at the Casino Español.

During the event, keynote speaker speech Ho Sun Yee, a Singaporean strategic planning consultant from Decision Process International, talked about how organizations can attain quality and sustainable growth while embracing technology and car- ing for the future.

One of the highlights of the event was the launch of the CFIF One Stop Shop Portal, an online buyer to company matching program. The brainchild of CFIF vice president-internal Alexander Hey, it aims to bridge the gap between traditional companies that have not yet embraced digitalization with the global market, which is easily available on the internet.

CFIF president Angela Paulin encouraged members to unite to propel forward the efforts of the foundation.

The newly proclaimed members of the Board of Trustees are Carlo Cordaro of Cebu Fil Veneer Corp., Christina Gaston of Hacienda Crafts Company, Byron Gonzalez of PEBA Trading & Manufacturing Corp., Alexander Hey of Vasacrafts Company, Cristina Lo of Coast Pacific Mfg. Corp., Justin Romualdez of Obra Cebuana Inc. and Evelyn Selma of Stonesets Internationl Inc.

Also gracing the event were Department of Trade and Industry Provincial Director Nanette Arbon, Department of Science and Technology Assistant Regional Director Jesus Zamora, and Philexport marketing manager May Sarmiento.
