Fallen drug suspect linked to Parojinog, Sabalones
The suspected drug pusher who was killed in the operation in Talisay City last Thursday afternoon was connected to the Parojinog group and to self-confessed drug lord Franz Sabalones.
Police Regional Office 7 Director Jose Espino said that Manolito Jasmin Sencil, a high-value target who operated in Cebu and other provinces, got his supply of shabu from Ozamiz City.
According to intelligence reports, Sencil's links with the Parojinogs and Sabalones started last year.
“We don't know how far pa yung connection nila before 2016,” Espino said.
This is the first time police linked a local drug personality to the Parojinogs.
As for Sabalones, his counsel Atty. Louie Arma had claimed that his client has changed.
Sencil was a friend of Joavan Fernandez, son of Talisay City Councilor and former mayor Socrates Fernandez.
Police arrested Sencil and his cohort Romy Ramas for helping MANOLITO JASMIN SENCIL Joavan in shooting a car shop watcher in 2013.
Espino said they are investigating the links of other drug personalities in Central Visayas, but he is sure they have national connections.
Operatives of the Regional Special Operations Group 7 and the Special Action Force raided Sencil's house in Sitio Mansueto, Tabunok.
The suspect resisted arrest, resulting in a shootout.
Seized from Sencil were a loaded .38 revolver, a loaded .45 pistol, a fragmentary grenade, two big packs of suspected shabu, a black bonnet and police camouflage shorts.
The search warrant was issued by Cebu City Regional Trial Court Branch 19 Judge Wilfredo Navarro.
