3 women, 4 men fall in separate Lapu-Lapu buy-busts

Seven drug suspects, including three females, were arrested in separate operations in LapuLapu City since Wednesday.

Lapu-Lapu Police Station 3 led by Senior Insp. Felix Cleopas III arrested Ian Cabando, 27; Melody Eliptico, 27; Lyn "Annie" Dorado Devera, 33; and Lyn "Kristel" dela Rosa Devera, 24, in Purok Ube, Bararangay Gun-ob last Wednesday night.

According to Cleopas, Cabando was taken into custody after he allegedly sold the illegal drugs to the police decoy, while Eliptico and the Deveras were spotted preparing to sniff shabu.

Nine sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia were seized from them.

Last Thursday, Cleopas's team caught Carlos "Naruto" Abaluyan, 33, on Sangi Road in Barangay Pajo at 9:30 p.m..

Ten sachets of shabu and the buy-bust money were recovered from him.

Two hours later, Cleopas said they arrested Rick Mar "Ikmay" Roman, 27, and Joseph "Jojo" Monares, 40, on Mantawe Road in Barangay Poblacion.

They recovered 12 sachets of shabu and the buy-bust money from Roman and Monares.

All the suspects were temporarily detained at the Lapu-Lapu Police Office holding cell.

They will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
