RC Goldline 21K to benefit CCSC grassroots program

Promoting a healthy lifestyle while helping the less privileged Cebuano youth are on top of the list of RC Goldline in its partnershi­p with the Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) for the RC Goldline Half Marathon Year 3 event they are hosting on Sept. 3.

The proceeds of the event will be given in full to the CCSC, to be used for its grassroots developmen­t program, especially by the Guba Elementary School Running Club.

RC Goldline president Christian Paro-an, his wife and general manager Desiree, CCSC chairman Ed Hayco and Commission­er Allan Delantar and race director Joel Juarez of Coco Running formally launched the event, which will be held at the Robinsons Galleria-Cebu.

"All proceed of this race will be given to the Cebu City Sports Commission. This is our way to help the city program and help the less privileged children in Cebu City," Paro-an said.

Hayco lauded the move of Paro-an who has been helping the city's grassroots program.

"RC Goldline and the Cebu City Sports Commission have one common goal, and one purpose, that is to help the less privileged kids in Cebu. His help is for the benefit of the public school students," Hayco explained.

The race is now an official Corporates Social Responsibi­lity event of RC Goldline on its 20th year anniversar­y next month.

Event categories include 3K, 6K, 12K and 21K races both for Men and Women.

Foreign runners will have a separate category but cash prizes will be only go to the top finisher in every category, while the top three local finishers in every category will get cash prizes.

Aside from the cash prizes, winners and finishers alike will be given medals, gift certificat­es and finishers certificat­es and are entitled to win prizes in the raffle draw.

Registrati­on fee is P350 for the 3K race, P500 for 6K, P600 for 12K and P700 for 21K.

Students, senior citizens and persons with disability will get P100 discount.

Registrati­on centers will be at the selected RC Goldline outlets and main office, Toby's, Runners and Cebu City Sports Center.
