Following the opening of its Liquid Studios in Manila, Accenture Philippines has expanded its footprint in Cebu with the opening of its new delivery center at Filinvest Cebu Cyberzone Tower in Cebu IT Park.

This is the company’s fifth delivery center in Cebu.

“It comes at an opportune time. We are celebrating our 10th year here. This facility is a particular manifestation of our commitment for Cebu,” said Lito Tayag, country managing director of Accenture, during the facility’s opening last Wednesday.

Tayag emphasized that the newest facility in Cebu is an integral part of the company’s operation to deliver solutions that will transform and make them relevant in this new IT era. Accenture occupies two floors at the Filinvest Cebu Cyberzone.

“We are happy with the numbers. But more than that, it is the innovative and high-value ser- vices that we deliver out of our Cebu’s operations and, of course, our people. I think that the Cebu story is far from over and this (facility) is simply an example of how we are continuing to expand our practice here,” said Tayag.

Described as “a digital floor,” Accenture’s delivery center showcases new and emerging technologies in artificial intelligence, robotics, the Internet of things, augmented reality, and virtual reality, among others.

Faster outcomes

These technologies, Accenture said, will enable them to help clients achieve their desired business outcomes faster.

It also has “enabling nooks” that encourage employees to work on technical and creative skills to advance their careers in the information technology-business process management (ITBPM) industry.

“The digital platforms we have here are consistent with our objective of increasing the skills of our people so that, in the end, they will continue to provide the high-value services for our clients and continue to lead the industry,” said Tayag.

Arvin Yason, lead for technology at Accenture-Cebu Delivery Center, said Cebu will become one of the locations that will scale up prototypes created in Accenture’s Liquid Studio in Metro Manila.

“The Liquid Studio’s primary intent is to be a prototyping location for clients with very focused problems with specific solutions, which we will scale up in other locations. Cebu will be one of those locations. This facility and the other four facilities for technology will focus on scaling up those prototypes,” said Yason.

Accenture also has Liquid Studios in Silicon Valley, London, Milan, Paris, Kronberg, Singapore, and Sydney.

It is the Cebu talent, their dedication, commitment and also their passion that are actually making Cebu an important component of our practice here LITO TAYAG Accenture’s country managing director, who says the company is on track toward hiring 1,000 more workers in Cebu.
