Lee, Andrin dominate R399 Run
Prince Joey Lee and Cherry Andrin ruled the fifth year of R399Live Your Dream, winning the men’s and women’s 12-kilometer titles at the Cebu Business Park yesterday.
Lee of Spectrum Runners Club clocked 41 minutes and 23 seconds to win the men’s title over Joseph Emia who timed 41:32. Paul James Zafico came in 42:46 for third place.
Andrin dominated the women’s field as she breasted the tape in 51:28 and was more than two minutes ahead of closest pursuer Jeneda Arcuino who had 53:36. Rue Pañibon timed 56:29 for third place.
Ruel Algufera topped the men’s 6K in 22:04, while Jiboy and Fritzlie Magbulogtong finished second and third, respectively, with times of 22:15 and 22:18.
Junior triathlete Moira Frances Erediano clocked 27:00 to win the women’s 6K. Leah Tamopus came second in 28:48 and Leonora Villamor finished in 31:04 for third place.
Ronald Alvarado was the fastest in the open 3K with 8:29, Regie Magbulogtong came second in 8:43 and Francis Kyle Policarpio settled third in 8:51.
This year, the run had a separate division for runners 44 years old and above. The champions in the men’s and women’s 12K were ultramarathoners Desederio “Sano” Ingbino (45:21) and Preciosa Sanchez (58:56).
Ramonito Tuico (25:04) and Fidela Eduria (36:56) were the winners in the 6K race.
The annual fun run was organized as a tribute event to Ramie Igaña, who died while doing the bike segment of the Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines last 2012.
