STRONGER. The newly minted Sugboanong Musikero (SM), a club of Cebu musicians, solo singers, comic duos and other entertainers and performers, is getting stronger by the day. I’m glad that two of Cebu’s wellrespected musical artists are now SM members. Singing lawyer Louie Arma, lead vocalist of Adventures band, and composer/singer Rommel Tuico have just joined SM and promised to support the club’s activities.

ADVISER.

I’m also glad that Rotarian and Sinulog Foundation Inc. executive director Ricky Ballesteros has accepted SM’s invitation for him to sit as its adviser. His brilliant ideas and suggestions would definitely contribute to the club’s growth and development.

CONCERT.

Come Dec. 2, the club will stage its debut project, a fund- raising concert titled “Pasiawit: Paskohanong Dalit.” Its proceeds will go the club’s medical aid program, which aims to help its ailing members. The fund raiser will be held at SM Seaside City Cebu starting at 4 p. m.

TOUR.

I have it from my good friend Hazel Sanchez that the Manila Symphony Orchestra will have its Visayas concert tour this month. Here is its itinerary: Aug. 25 at Molo Church in Iloilo City, Aug. 26 at the Iloilo Convention Center, Aug. 27 at SM City Cebu in Mabolo, Aug. 28 at SM Seaside City Cebu and Aug. 30 at Palo Academic Center in Palo, Leyte. All concerts are free to the public.
