Launchings are always good news because it means something new or something better is being introduced. CT4 recently launched its Cebu office on the 10th floor of Avenir building. According to Leonisa Lazaro-Bacalso, country manager, “CT4 is a global company provider of private and managed public cloud service. It is comprised of three corporate entities based on region: Australia (Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and Fiji), Singapore (Asia and the USA) and United Kingdom (Europe). Each regional center provides complementary services across the group with technical centers based in Brisbane, Australia and now in Cebu, Philippines.” The term cloud “refers to remote computer resources delivered as services over a network, typically the internet,” according to Yahoo.

Dr. Hope S. Solano has a clinic at the Cebu Doctors Medical Arts Building and her recent blessing and launching meant an expansion of her clinic, A Touch of Hope, as well as the clinic’s newest equipment acquisition, the Btl Exilis Elite RF machine. Dr.Solano says that this machine “is a new radio-frequency technology that reduces areas of fat while tightening the skin. While not a replacement surgery, for those seeking a non-surgical solution to small areas of fat on the face, neck, body, legs, arms and knees, or those who seek to improve their skin tone and quality, Exilis Elite is a great alternative. It may also be used as a post procedural adjunct to surgery to improve and maintain result.” Dr. Solano is a dermatologist who finished medicine at the Cebu Doctors University and proceeded with an accredited dermatology training at the Southern Philippine Medical Centre. She is a diplomate in dermatology from the Philippine Dermatological Society in 2011.

Relaunched recently was Cocina de la Casa with new members in its board: lawyerFillmore Gomos, chef Nino Regis and Pia Bouffard have joined executive chef Stephen Aznar in the Cocina venture. They asked family and friends for a buffet celebration of the relaunch. It was a great party with Stephen choosing the wines to go with the generous buffet spread among the items of which was dinuguan, made, according to Stephen, according to his late mother’s (Ely S. Aznar) recipe.

Launched also on the first Sunday of August was Elena Chua’s Casa Bella, the first English tea house in Cebu. Located within her Sirao Garden Little Amsterdam complex, the tea house offers a new venue for intimate gatherings of family and friends for an afternoon of generous cups of tea and sandwiches and cakes, with Elena herself attending to her tea house guests. The tea house is a very cozy and happy with Elena’s “memories”(her knickknack, teapot and bone china collection) decorating the walls.

○○○ Tidbits: A piano concert in a mall and a birthday celebration: Concert pianist Leonor Kilayko gave her first-ever mall concert at The Gallery of Ayala Center Cebu, playing three concertos for an audience that appreciated her prowess above the mall noise; recent birthday celebrator was former model Elena Gabaya who is now a fashion designer with her own atelier, Maria Elena, located at her family’s Ayala Motors outlet in Mabolo. Elena celebrated her natal day with close friends at her favorite hangout, the F Café.
