■ 3 MINORS CAUGHT FOR BURGLARY IN BOGO CITY
Three minors, who were involved in a series of burglary incidents, were again caught after breaking into two business establishments in Barangay La Purisima, Bogo City last Monday dawn. Two boys, age 12 and 14, and a girl, age 14, were turned over to the local social welfare office. Republic Act (RA) 9344, or the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act, stated that minors below 15 could not be criminally charged. Minors above 15 but below 18 may be charged with criminal offense if social workers are able to determine that the minor committed the crime with discernment. The minors’ latest victims were Orix Metro Leasing & Finance Corp. and Lillerd Technology Corp., a distributor of a telecommunication company’s prepaid services. Investigation showed the minors gained entrance by destroying Lillerd’s back door and Orix’s wall. Police believed that the break-in happened past midnight. The minors stole cash amounting to P3,677 and a piggy bank from Orix. They took two mobile wiFis, a battery and USB chord from Lillerd. These stolen items were recovered from them. The other victims of the minors were store owner Ronald Cesar Ortega Sevilleno and beauty salon owner Nicasio Jugan Piasan. Sevilleno lost his cell phone worth P2,000; packs of cigarettes, P300; and groceries worth P300. For his part, Piason lost a champagne glass, wines, colognes, cosmetics and an undetermined amount of money. /
