WORK FOR JOB-READY PERSONS WITH AUTISM
The Autism Society Philippines will have an Autismworks Open House on Sept. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kite Strings Developmental Center on Torralba St., Barangay Lahug, Cebu City. Qualified applicants will be interviewed during the Open House.
Autism Society Philippines (ASP), through its program Autismworks, is currently helping fill up positions in various functions in the retail, food service, and business process outsourcing (BPO) industries for job-ready persons with autism.
In Cebu, ASP will have an Autismworks Open House on Sept. 9, Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kite Strings Developmental Center, 2 Torralba St., Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.
Qualified applicants will be interviewed during the Open House.
Applicants must meet the following criteria: must be 18 yearsold and above, with formal autism diagnosis, must be willing to disclose diagnosis to employer, must have undergone job-readiness training or preparation in a school setting, and ASP member (can be completed upon placement).

While ASP will do its best to facilitate inclusion, it does not offer assurances that applicants will be placed. The prospective employers shall determine the availability of the positions and the applicants’ readiness to take on the positions that match their interest, skill, and geographic convenience.
At least 30 persons with autism in Metro Manila have been placed during the first year of Autismworks.
In Cebu, two persons with autism have been working part-time since July 31 at Save and More at Parkmall in Mandaue City.
