22ND SHAABAA BASKETBALL Landmasters vs. Davidson?

-

It is likely that defending champions Cebu Landmasters will have Harley Davidson as its challenger this season as both squads finished the second round with an identical 5-1 win-loss record in Division A of the 22nd Shaabaa Basketball tournament.

At the SHS-AdC Canduman Campus last Sunday, Harley Davidson defeated Gaisano Capital, 75-62, while the Landmasters survived the tough game of the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles Team B before scoring an 86-82 victory.

Pierro Longa scored 20 points and had 10 rebounds, Jair Igna made 10 points, three rebounds and four assists and Fletcher Galvez also scattered 10 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, had two steals and two blocks as Harley Davidson rebounded from its defeat to the Landmasters last Sunday.

While Daryle Tan scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Leigh Dixon finished with 10 points, eight rebounds and three assists for the Landmasters’ victory.

With one more round to play, Cebu Landmasters and Harley Davidson are most likely to play in the best-of-3 finals as they hold a superior winning average assuming they would lose all their third round assignments.

Meanwhile, Dynacast stayed unbeaten following a 67-41 win over the 1993 King Properties for its seventh straight win, the 1995 Savers Depot dealt 1996 White Gold Club a 69-64 decision to improve 4-3 in the team standings, and 2002 San Remegio improved to 4-2 following a 66-47 win over 1994 Filmon in Division B competition.

The 2008 Crossfit Subtero claimed the lead in Division C following a 58-47 win over the erstwhile unbeaten defending champions 2007 Petron Global Carrier, the 2003 Kitrol survived with a 50-48 win over 2008 Cottonseed, the 2015 Peoples General dealt 2004 Radar Tires a 73-57 spanking, and 2005 Bizol beat 2015 Bling Nation a 51-44 loss. /
