F2 Logistics Cargo Movers is hoping to jump-start the development of volleyball in the countryside and will hold a two-day series of friendly games against the Cebu School Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) Selection.

The smashers from Cargo Movers and Cesafi Selection will treat Cebuanos with their superb spiking abilities on Sept. 15 to 16 at the University of San Carlos (USC)-Main Gym.

“We’ve been traveling to other areas already and we really want to bring our team here in Cebu. Our purpose of coming here is not only to bring our players closer to their fans because it is also our desire to help strengthen the volleyball program of Cebu,” said F2 Cargo Logistics President and CEO Efren Uy.

Since Uy formed his team two years ago, the Cargo Movers, under the command of coach Ramil de Jesus, readily made an impact by topping the All-Filipino Conference of the Philippine Super Liga (PSL).

They fell short though in their back-to-back title bid after finishing as runner-up to the Petron Blaze Spikers this season.

The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers will be led by Victonara Galang, Kim Fajardo and Mary Joy Baron.

Also in the Cargo Movers’ roster are Desiree Wynea Cheng, Cherry Rose Nunag, Abigail Maraño, Carmel June Saga, Dawn Nicole Macandili, Charlene Abiegail Cruz, Shawna-Lei Santos, Kim Kianna Dy, Aduke Christine Ogunsanya, and Ernestine Grace Tiamzon.

The Cargo Movers will be up against the Cesafi players from the University of San Carlos (USC), University of Cebu (UC), University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R), University of Southern Philippines-Foundation (USP-F) and Southwestern University-Phinma (SWU).

Tournament manager Jordan Paca said that the Cesafi selection lineup will be released next week.

The Cargo Movers is also set to hold a clinic on Sept. 16 and will have a ‘Meet and Greet’ with the fans.

The tickets for the games is at P50 for general admission and P100 for courtside. /
