Dragon tattoo

The tattoo brought to Europe from Polynesia through naval routes in the early 19th century, Wikipedia said, has over time become a fashion accessory for both men and women.

It used to be that only ex-convicts sport tattoos. The sight of mythical beasts, venomous snakes and birds of prey would instill fear on some people.

Such that a man who was teased for being gay went to a tattoo artist to have one that will make him look brave. When asked where to put the tattoo, he said, “Sa kilay lang, para morag maldita tan-awon.”

Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV said at the Senate hearing Thursday on the P6.4-billion “shabu” shipment from China that Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, son of President Duterte, has a dragon tattoo on his back.

Trillanes accused him of being a member of the Chinese drug triad, with the dragon tattoo as proof.

People with dragon tattoos should hide them as Sen. Trillanes could link them to some Chinese drug triad.

Paolo Duterte admitted he has a tattoo on his back. But he refused to show it as requested by Trillanes, invoking his right to privacy.

“No way!” he said when Trillanes asked him if he was willing to have a picture of his tattoo taken for decoding by the US Drug Enforcement Agency.

So, Sen. Trillanes has proof, but he has yet to see it.

Atty. Rainier Madrid, Paolo Durterte’s counsel, said he had advised his client “not to play the game of Trillanes” and not to show his tattoo during the public hearing.

“He has a tattoo. Tattoo is a fad nowadays. Even people in Hollywood, they have tattoos and he was gentleman enough to admit he has tattoos. He’s a young lad, nadadala sa mga uso, but to say he’s a member of triad — that’s too much,” Madrid said.

But Madrid said he had not seen the tattoo: “I haven’t seen it because I’m not gay. If I am, I would’ve insisted.”
