Liloan’s CLUP has been in effect –mayor
Liloan Mayor Ma. Esperanza Christina Frasco took exception to a SunStar Cebu report that named Liloan as one of the local government units in Cebu that has no comprehensive land use plan.
The report, which used data furnished by the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board 7 and 8, identified Liloan as one of four local government units as having no CLUP.
In a letter sent to SunStar Cebu, Frasco said Liloan’s CLUP is supported by Resolution No. 1726-2011 passed by the Cebu Provincial Board (PB) and that as early as July 23, 1978, Liloan approved a land use plan through Sangguniang Bayan Resolution No. 170.
“Liloan’s Zoning Ordinance No. 2009-07 and its Comprehensive Land Use Plan are still in effect today, and are not due for revision until the year 2018,” the chief executive noted, expressing concern that being wrongly identified as a town without a CLUP “unfairly dampens the economic climate of Liloan and its viability to existing and potential investors.”
She also attached a letter she sent to HLURB 7 and 8 Director Fransisco Ordeniza asking for a retraction.
“Since its enactment in 2009, the Municipal Government of Liloan has strictly implemented its Zoning Ordinance and CLUP. Since the start of my administration in 2016, our local government has continued to strictly regulate land use in Liloan in accordance with law, and with our vision for sustainable and inclusive development,” Frasco said in her letter to Ordeniza.
HLURB Housing and Homesite Regulatory Officer Roma Quijano said the agency may have not been furnished a copy of the resolution was not included in their database. She verified the information with the Provincial Planning and Development Office yesterday and sent SunStar Cebu a copy of Resolution No. 1726-2011 passed by the Cebu PB on Nov. 16, 2011. /
