I was single, but for the first time after a breakup, I wasn’t alone. From the instant I took him home, he turned my “me” into “we.” It’s like he knew exactly how to help me with what I was going through. Sunday was the runt of the litter. He was weak, he has breathing problems etc. He was admitted for four days. He was struggling. I spent the days between the vet’s, home and work. It was horrible being at work knowing he was all by himself. He was always there for me, and I wanted to be there for him. I was in constant fear of losing him. But my baby boy was so brave! He survived all those pain. To this day, he spends most of his days sleeping, snorting, sniffling, drooling and panting beside my desk as I work. He loves running and playing around with my nephews at home and our customers in the coffee shop. He loves to bury his face in my armpit when he’s falling asleep. He’s now a strong and happy dog.”

What’s the best thing about your pet?

“He is a major mama’s boy, very needy and always wants to play. He loves the beach and chasing waves. He serves as our alarm clock as he barks when it’s breakfast time. The sound of my key turning in the lock will make him start barking. I love him more than bacon and egg. He is my baby, my world, my best friend and he ultimately saved my life.” What tip can you give to people who want to be responsible pet owners? “Just never, ever stop caring.”
