Singapore Airlines’ (SIA) regional wing, Silk Air, will mount a travel fair this weekend at the Ayala Center Cebu.

In partnership with Mastercard, Cebuanos can purchase a cheaper round-trip ticket to Singapore at $125 for a minimum of two persons and $140 round trip fare for solo travel.

These promo fares, however, don’t cover the terminal fee and the Philippine travel tax. More so, these are exclusive during the twoday travel fair on Saturday and Sunday at the Ayala Center Cebu and for Mastercard cardholders.

Silk Air will also be giving other exclusive perks during the travel fair.

Jake Jeow, manager for Silk Air in the Philippines, announced last Tuesday that their partnership with Mastercard doesn’t only cover Cebu’s travel fair, as Silk Air and SIA have launched “The Great Singapore Airlines Getaway,” a global sales campaign that offers more travelers the opportunity to explore select destinations around the world within SIA and Silk Air’s network at discounted air fares.

The promo fair runs from Sept. 7 to 24 for travel from Oct. 1, 2017 until June 30, 2018.

The Great Singapore Airlines Getaway is part of Singapore Airlines’ 70th anniversary celebration.

Jeow said he expects a surge in travel from the Philippines to Singapore on the back of this sales campaign.

“We continue to notice a healthy demand for leisure and business from the Philippines to Singapore,” he said. Singapore is one of the top quick getaways for Filipinos.

Industry reports said there were 509,271 Filipinos who visited Singapore from January to November 2016.

Silk Air’s hubs in the country are in Manila, Cebu, Kalibo and Davao.

Kristine Lim, senior sales officer of Silk Air Philippines, announced that the airline continues to embark on route expansion to connect more people to many points in the world.

She said Silk Air will soon be flying to Hiroshima, Japan before the end of the year. Lim said this will give Filipinos more options for travel to Japan, either for leisure or business.

“Hiroshima has been popular with Singaporeans due to its historical significance, good weather and proximity to various attractions in neighboring cities,” said SilkAir CEO Foo Chai Woo.
