While one enters the store with a list prepared, it is almost impossible to leave without an unplanned purchase. Let's face it, these massive supermarkets are making sticking to your grocery list a struggle with their almost overwhelming aisles of goods plus dining options and other services all under one roof. Take a look at some of Cebu's best supermarkets and their offerings to boast—because after all, they're not called super for nothing.

Robinsons Selections

The store shook the supermarket scene when it opened in 2015, winning Best Supermarket for SunStar Best of Cebu 2016. Aside from wide aisles and meticulously arranged merch, the store has a Food-To-Go Bar with a wide selection of meal combos—a convenient stop if one gets hungry during a grocery run. One can also get bouquets and floral arrangements at Petals & Posies. The health conscious will surely rejoice as Robinsons Selections has a Health and Wellness aisle dedicated to all your dietary needs. Metro Supermarket

With several branches dotting the city, Metro Supermarket is an establishment known for its thorough array of goods in a no-fuss environment. It has everything that one will need—snacks, canned goods, bathroom necessities, house supplies, meats and vegetables. If you just need to grab and go for the essentials, one can count on Metro Supermarket for quick grocery run. Landers Superstore

Having opened just this year, it is the youngest of the bunch but it's definitely no tiny store. The members-only emporium is known for bulk merchandise—chips, baking ingredients, condiments, snacks, toiletries etc. But of course, the food at its in-house cafeteria-style restaurant Landers Central is worth dropping by for as well. Get your caffeine fix at Doppio with pastries to pair from Dough & Co. It serves ice cream by the scoop, too! Members also get a free cut or shampoo and blowdry at Federal Barbers and a discount on fuel from the exclusive Caltex station located right outside. Shopwise

Also operated by Rustan's Supercenters Inc., Shopwise always has great deals on food items and dry goods. Everything is on one floor; one can shop for food, toiletries, clothing, electronics, linens and more—all within the confines of this supermarket. Shopwise also has a Mongolian rice station, where you can customize the ingredients, from vegetables and meats down to the sauces. On the side is the bakery, where one can buy Shopwise's famous ensaymadas. (Shopwise is located at N. Bacalso Ave., Basak, Cebu City.)

Savemore

Aside from being the home of the Best Turon, Savemore is also a go-to among many Cebuanos because of the convenience of its many branches scattered around the city. The store offers a comprehensive array of products, including a good assortment of meats and fresh produce and a solid section of imported goods. Savemore also has its own line of merchandise, ranging from condiments to toiletries— all at affordable prices. Rustan’s Supermarket

SunStar Best of Cebu 2016 Best Gourmet Supermarket is a treasure trove for hard-to-find imported goods. If you're on the lookout for a fancy bottle of wine, a sophisticated cold cut or a rare kind of cheese, there's a good chance you can find it here as the store is known to stock both familiar and rare imported brands and products.
